Free parking will eventually be introduced in the urban centers of Teulada and Moraira. This is evident from the statutes introduced by the town hall. At the moment there are still payment terminals in the urban centers. It is not yet known when they will be removed.
The municipality of Almoradí has announced an investment plan of 12 million euros. It is therefore the largest in the history of the municipality. Expenditure will be spent on “public infrastructure.” According to the municipality, the work will have very positive consequences for the well-being of all residents.
The Costa Blanca will also have to deal with a changed electricity tariff system from next week. Consumers are advised to research and possibly change their habits to avoid paying more. Weeknights, weekends and national holidays will become cheaper under the new rules.
An inland village has changed the names of 14 streets, 11 of which were dedicated to virgins and saints. It concerns the municipality of Castell de Castells. Six of the streets have been circumscribed in the Valencian way. The municipality has chosen to delete religious names.
The court has ruled on the case against a young woman. The woman was under the influence of alcohol and drugs when she previously entered the Jávea triathlon team. The incident took place on N-332. The woman has been sentenced to three years and nine months in prison.
In Altea, construction work has started on the boulevard and on the beach. The aim is to renew the beach promenade and reduce the number of parking spaces, in order to be able to expand the beach with the space gained. In total, more than four million euros will be invested in the new promenade. The work is expected to take twelve months.
In Albir, the Bulevar de los Músicos, which ends on the beach, has undergone a thorough overhaul. Trees and shrubs were pruned earlier. Weeds and undergrowth have recently been removed and regular maintenance has been carried out. This is done in preparation for the summer season.
In Elche, the local police arrested a 51-year-old man. That happened after an incident that took place on Tuesday, May 18. The suspect is said to have threatened employees of a shop in the city with a firearm. The suspect fled with money and jewelry. When the man was arrested, the firearm was also found. It turned out to be an air gun.
Batman is heading to the popular coastal town of Benidorm in the new comic, Batman: The World, which will go on sale from September 14, 2021. The superhero is coming to the Costa Blanca, and will among other things be seen sitting on an Osborne bull, and looking over the coastal town. That reports the website Spanjevandaag dot com. The fact that Batman comes to Benidorm is thanks to the Spanish comic cartoonist Paco Roca, who has the famous Bruce Wayne come to the coastal town, on a mission where the superhero must fight an evil entity.
