Corona pandemic leads to emergence of more private hospitals in Valencia region

The corona pandemic is leading to the emergence of more private hospitals in the Spanish region of Valencia. The regional board is currently discussing the realization of three new private hospitals. One in five hospital beds is currently privately owned. The Spanish newspaper La Provincias wrote that health care in Valencia is being pushed to the limit by the pandemic. The massive influx of corona patients is halting care for patients with other conditions. As expected, the waiting list for people with treatments other than Covid-19 is only getting longer.
