Elche wants to reduce the working week to 32 hours or four days

The municipality of Elche has approved a motion to start a pilot project. That project aims to reduce the working week to 32 hours or four days, as proposed by the central government. The plan should encourage employers to test the initiative. A reduction in working hours would have a positive effect on the country’s economy as it can generate new jobs, increase income for the leisure and leisure sector and reduce structural unemployment, the proposal suggests.
